Walk to McCaigs Tower

McCaigs Tower is one of Oban’s most iconic landmarks. Built in the late 19th century, it overlooks the town and offers stunning panoramic views.

Swim at Ganavan Sands

Just 2km north of the town, Ganavan Sands is Oban’s main beach. You can get the bus from the town centre or park nearby.

And, if you’re feeling brave, why not dip in the refreshing waters around Oban? In the summer, the water temperature hovers between 12-14 degrees Celsius, perfect for a quick, refreshing swim.

If you love seafood, The Seafood Hut is a treat you won’t want to miss. It's located on the pier and serves the freshest seafood straight off the boats.

Cycle part of the national route 78

Oban Cycles offers bike rentals that allow you to cycle part of National Route 78. This route stretches for 235 miles, but even a short ride will take you through the beautiful landscapes in the area.
